DEB Talks. Are your environments fit for purpose?

This month Deb is talking about buildings and the environment within with a view to potentially making changes within a building to accommodate the types of clients now living in aged care.

As residents are becoming more frail, often with co-morbidity issues, together with giving consideration to staff shortages,  is there a better way to accommodate the lifestyle needs?

Previously facilities housed more mobile residents, so is the current design of the environment fit for purpose?  With the current cohort living in aged care, what does that mean for the design and renovation of buildings?

Using gyms, wellness rooms and physios as an example, Deb reflects on the use of these spaces and provides alternative solutions for residents to stay active and engaged whilst minimising the impost on staff.
